I got my dash restored (vacuum metalised) by a company here in NZ. Waihi Vacuum Metalisers, cost me NZ$130. Quality is excellent and turnaround time was 2 weeks :-D :-D :-D I stripped the dash myself using oven cleaner and a toothbrush. It has now been resprayed argent by a local guy who also has a GT rep. He had plates laser cut out of metal to mask off the round sections and it came out damn near perfect :-D :-D :-D

That is a very good price. Do you have contact details for this dude in NZ? A long way to send one's dash tho.

I started yesterday, will complete the painting today. :D
I use F1 chrome spray, works perfect. I did a test on a old facia. It sticks well.

Hi Jeff I have heard that there dash resto's are very average.

Kandy351 I think had his XR GT dash done there & it was pretty average from memory..

Well I sent an email over a week ago and no reply so think I'll steer clear of this place.

Looks ok Rassie for the price,and I know your next will be better, in the archives here theres some color numbers for argent so you can get some mixed up to put thru your spraygun, luv your spraygun holder by the way!

@Lance, yours looks ace mate.

Just dug mine out its original and looks pretty shabby in the chrome dept.
also at some stage a previous owner has removed the 'fuel' black plate from the gauge, i got a repro one but the writings not the same, when I complained he sent me a full set, oil and temp so they all look the same but not original, so I'm really chasing an original to keep it looking correct.
Anyone out there wanna part with just the "fuel" bit out of a gauge, got a full set of brand new incorrect ones I can trade?
